Let’s face it, my #1 reason to start blogging was to make money, #2 was to entertain myself. I’ve got #2 down but #1 is a lot more difficult! While looking for ways to earn money, I had to look at what seemed like millions of sites, it was probably under 200. I wrote them all down, crossed off irrelevant sites and culled the list to find the ones I want to use, I was left with lots of information. That’s what I am offering you, information. It’s not a money-making opportunity, guarantee, opinion or summary of my experience. It’s a list.
It is in no way a comprehensive list and I did not receive anything from any of the sites listed. This is simply a list with some basic information, information I wish I had when I started blogging. Some sites require a minimum number or readers, months or site rankings before you can register; this list will help you weed those out until you qualify. Most importantly, it will save you a lot of time.
In addition to pay-per-click, pay per action and ad placement sites, there are sites that offer broader campaigns with more specific criteria. Some sites will notify you of campaigns which you can either accept at the proposed rate or counter bid, advertisers then select from the pool of applicants. Other sites allow the advertisers to search for specific criteria and tell you when they are interested; if the site offers campaigns, sponsored posts or ambassadorships, there will be some sort of selection process. Although I didn’t detail it by site, many allow you to select e-mail notifications as a way to find out about new opportunities, others require you to log into their site and check your dashboard.
This information is 100% free on the web if you visit each of these sites and read the FAQs and/or fine print or sign up to get access to the details. I have already done that for you, organized it in a simple, alphabetical format and spent a few hours putting it together. I haven’t found a list like this yet. I have found lists of websites with detail about what they do, found much smaller subsets of websites with a bit of information and the users opinion/experience, purchased material telling me to go to sign up on affiliate websites and, have found lots of blog posts telling me how to make money but not where. None of them told me if there was criteria prohibiting me from applying or whether I need to be approved or provided more than a handful, I’ve tried to get you that information.
I hope this helps on your journey to fame and fortune!
